A Bust or Must? | Ninja Assassin

I have been thinking for the last three days on how to start this post. I went from trying to think of a catchy opening to just flat out typing something. I'm sure you could probably tell what choice I made, but I'll still try to make it not too boring or rushed. Anyway about a month or so back SlowMotionKarma was telling me about the movies being released later on this year. However, the one that caught my interest was Ninja Assassin.

The movie is about a young boy named Razio (Rain) who is kidnapped by the Ozunu Clan and trained to become one of the world's deadliest assassins. When Raizo's friend is later executed by the clan, Raizo flees into hiding. Raizo later returns to seek revenge for his friend's death. Meanwhile Mika Coretti (Naomie Harris) is a Europol, or European Criminal Police Organization, agent who investigates money linked to political murders. She then later finds that it is linked to the Ozunu Clan. The Ozunu Clan later try to assassinate her to stop the investigation, but the plan is ruined when she is rescued by Raizo. Now Raizo and Mika must work together to take down the Ozunu Clan before it is to late.

Now that sounds like an interesting movie. The thing that makes this movie seem like it might suck is the fact that Rain is playing the lead. Now it's not him that makes me question the movie, but his skills as an actor. Keep in mind this is not the first thing he starred in. He has been in a few Korean dramas before this. I actually own one of them. It's called Full House. Now while his acting is passing, it is not the best. I mean in the show you really didn't see to much change in his character. His voice and expressions all looked and sounded the same weather he was happy or sad. However, he also starred in his first American movie not too long after called Speed Racer. I haven't seen the movie, mainly cause I'm not a big fan of Speed Racer. So today I decided to rent the movie on Blu-ray to see if his acting has approved at all. Unfortunately, there is also another problem and that is his fighting skills. I have never seen him in a action movie. I mean is the fighting style going to look smooth and awesome or like a ripoff of a bad Van Damme movie. Now before you Van Damme fanatics hang me for saying that I just want to point out he is no Bruce Lee, deal with it.

In closing the only thing I see that would probably help this movie is the little fan base he has growing in America. I guess we will just have to wait till November 25th to find out. Now if you would excuse me I have to watch Speed Racer now. Be sure to check back November 26 for th
e review.
